How to get there

• Access to Poros Island by sea:

Poros is easily accessible by sea by high speed / ferry boat from the port of Piraeus (gate E8):
From the port of Piraeus there are daily and regular departures. The trip by high speed boat (flying cats / flying dolphins) lasts 1 hour, by ferryboat lasts 2 hours 15' minutes.

Transfer from the airport to the port of Piraeus :
There are three ways to get from the Athens International airport (El.Venizelos) to the port of Piraeus, as   following:

By public bus:

"Eleftherios Venizelos" Athens International Airport is served on a 24hour basis by the bus line X96 Piraeus – Athens International Airport.
The line connects the airport with the port of Piraeus. The bus stop is outside the airport between the exits 4 and 5. The bus goes straight from the airport to the port and the average travelling time is 90’ . Exit the bus at the “Karaiskaki square” bus stop and go the gate E8 to reach the ferry boat of the high speed boat.

By metro:

There is a terminal right in front of the airport. You take blue line (line 3) from the airport. When reaching “Monastiraki Station” you take green line (line 1) the train with direction to Piraeus. The terminal station is right across the port (gate E6) . Go the gate E8 to reach the ferry boat of the high speed boat.

By taxi:

All taxis are next to exit 3 at the level of the arrivals. • Access to Poros Island by the highway from Piraeus or Athens:

Using the highway Athens – Corinth and through Epidaurus to Galatas (180 m.). From the port of Galatas a car ferry leaves every half hour and from the seafront several water taxis wait to take passengers, the crossing takes little over 3 minutes.

• Access to Poros Island by taxi:

Another option is to take taxi to Galatas and then the local ferry to Poros. The duration of the journey is  2:30  hours. The cost is 180 €, for further information:	Route from Airport to Galatas (Click on the picture to enlarge)

• Within Poros Island:

Local buses, taxis and traditional wooden boats will take you everywhere in Poros island. Available also rental offices for cars, motorbikes, bicycles or mountain bikes.
